Balanced Duality Editorial

Once a year I make it a priority to get photos done with my boyfriend. To each their own, but I’m personally not a fan of “normal” or cookie-cutter couples photos. I believe in photos that tell a story and evoke emotion, so that’s what I sought out to do again this year. I seek to give the clothes and the set a deeper meaning with every creative project that I style.

My boyfriend and I are VERY different. When we first met we would get comments all the time about how different we were from each other but it really didn’t phase us. Instead, we embraced it and that is what this project was about.

Parker is focused, disciplined, frugal, and kind while I am fun, exciting, adventurous, and impulsive. I spent a long time thinking about these adjectives that I used to describe us and I styled both of us in clothing that matches those descriptors.

I wanted the set to remain minimalistic and clean but also a little disheveled and industrial. I chose this set because it gives off an intentionally imperfect vibe and there’s really nothing worse to me than people who act like everything about their relationship is perfect. Lol.
