Sirens of Atlantis Editorial
Omg…this was one of the craziest days ever lol. This project came about when me and my creative partner, Lauren, decided that we wanted to host a super stylized editorial shoot with multiple photographers, models, and makeup artists. We wanted this project to be more than a fashion shoot…we wanted it to tell a story. Like most personal projects I do, I wanted these photos to be stunning to look at but I also wanted the viewer to have something to figure out…a story to decipher. It’s totally up for interpretation but I strived to express the general theme of “Moral Relativism” which is basically the belief that good and evil are subjective. There are five characters in this editorial (the three sirens, the pirate, and the shipwrecked sailor) - all with their own unique backstory. I wanted every character/model to have a sort of sinister intrigue about them which is expressed through the casting, styling, and overall theme.
The amount of coordination this project required was TRULY astronomical! We did everything in our power to keep all models, photographers, and makeup artists on a tight schedule so everyone involved would have an equal amount of shooting time. On shoot day, we started prepping at 8:00am and the shoot wrapped around 8:00pm. It was a total whirlwind. The day moved so fast that it felt like it only lasted 10 minutes but everything went exactly as planned and I couldn’t ask for a better team of creatives to work with!
